Moving messages attached to white "ghost bike" at scene of the accident
Emotional tributes have been left to “Dan,” the cyclist who died after a collision with a lorry at Dalston Junction last Wednesday.
Messages left on a white ghost bike at the scene of the crash at the junction of Balls Pond Road with Kingsland Road, said: “I love you forever and always my brainface, Sarah,” and “Dan, I will miss your cheeky face so much, you were such a ******* winner, I love you.”
Other messages on the roadside memorial said: “Thank you for making so much spaghetti and being a friend to my friends,” and “Dan get your **** together! Tom xx.”
The victim, believed to be in his late 20s, was taken to the Royal London Hospital after the crash, shortly before 4.45pm, but he died on Friday (February 4) at 3pm.
Next of kin have been informed but police are waiting for formal identification before releasing his name.
The lorry driver stopped at the scene and no-one has been arrested.
Investigating DC Tony Millington wants witnesses to call 0208 597 4874.
