Two people were arrested this morning in a crackdown on burglaries during the festive period.
The Gazette joined around 20 officers as they stormed four addresses across the borough in a series of dawn raids.
Raids were carried out at Loanda Close on the Stonebridge Estate; Millfields Road in Lower Clapton; Braydon Road in Stoke Newington; and Pearson Street, off Kingsland Road in Haggerston.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and breaching a drugs intervention order.
The men were being quizzed at Shoreditch Police Station in Shepherdess Walk as the Gazette went to press.
