The devastated family of Marcel Addai who was chased through the streets and stabbed to death, have spoken of their disbelief at such a ‘wicked attack’.
Marcel Addai, 17, was found by police suffering from stab wounds just after 11pm on Friday September 4 at the St John’s Estate in Pitfield Street.
Screams could be heard echoing throughout the estate as he was killed.
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service tried to save his life but he was pronounced dead at the scene just before midnight.
In a statement his family said: ““We have been left totally devastated by the death of Marcel. We cannot comprehend how anyone could carryout such a wicked attack.
“We want those people who know something about this attack to come forward and provide information to the police.
“These people must come forward to prevent another family going through the pain we are all now suffering.”
A 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday and remain in custody at a north London police station.
The Homicide and Major Crime Command continues to appeal for witnesses and information.
DCI Andy Partridge said: “My officers have come across a community left shocked by what has taken place.
“Whilst we have had a good initial response I believe there are still a number of people who were at the scene who have not come forward, people who hold significant information. I want to stress that any information provided will be dealt with sensitively and in the strictest confidence.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8358 0300 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
