Two people were treated in hospital after a blaze destroyed the entire first floor of a Stoke Newington home this morning.

Three people escaped the three-storey house in Hawksley Road before the London Fire Brigade arrived just after 6am.

A woman was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service, while a man and an elderly woman were taken to hospital.

The cause of the fire, which also affected part of the second floor, is under investigation.

It took 21 fire fighters 90 minutes to bring the fire under control.
