Voting has opened for people’s favourite places to eat or drink in Hackney, from a shortlist of 13 nominated businesses vying to scoop a Mayor of Hackney Business Award for 2016.
The venues were selected from 35 which were nominated by the public for the ‘People’s Choice Award’.
The awards help showcase the work of the local business community, rewarding those who contribute most to the life and prosperity of the borough’s economy.
The winners of all award categories, except for the people’s choice, will be selected by a panel of leading business figures and will be chaired by the Mayor of Hackney, Jules Pipe. He said: “The nominations put forwards show the tremendous variety of restaurants, cafés and bars in our borough, helping to make Hackney second-to-none across London as a cultural, leisure and night-time destination.”
The awards ceremony will take place next month.
Votes can be cast at www.hackney.gov.uk/business-awards until Friday January 29.
