There’s some new kids on the block at Clissold Park, as two new goats have joined the rest of the enclosure.
The two Anglo Nubian goats, Wallace and Gromit, arrived earlier this month, and have already made a big impression.
They have been named after Clissold park keeper John’s favourite animated characters.
Both of them were born at Hackney City Farm just four months ago.
Goats have been a fixture in the park since it opened in 1889. They eat shrubs, bushes and grass, but are also fed bespoke goat food.
Deputy mayor Feryal Demirci said: “It’s great to welcome Wallace and Gromit to the Park, and to see that they have already made a big impression, with local children making regular trips down to their enclosure to say hello.
“They are full of character and can be seen happily playing together, these two brothers are the best of friends. I would suggest residents come down to welcome them to the Park.”
