Weather warnings have been issued across London following heavy snowfall overnight and this morning.
The Met Office and Highways Agency have both warned that treacherous conditions are likely to lead to travel and transport disruption during the next 24 hours.
People are being advised to stay at home as snow is forecast to continue falling through the afternoon and this evening.
The Met Office has issued a yellow severe weather warning for ice as the gritters take to the streets.
Meanwhile Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed snow is affecting the Tube with the Central, Piccadilly and Metropolitan lines reporting suspended or part-suspended services. Many bus services are also suspended due to the poor road conditions.

Rail routes into London were also disrupted, including Great Northern, London Overground, Thameslink, Virgin Trains East Coast and Transport for London Rail services.
The blanket of snow prompted excitement among many people who raced into their gardens and open spaces to sledge and build snowmen. The heavy snowfall was unexpected in the capital with forecasters previously predicting high winds instead.
