The first Well Street Market festival takes place in South Hackney this Saturday, with the 150-year old market street closed off for the first time in 30 years and stalls on both sides of the street.
As well as seasonal features like mulled wine, home-made traditional Christmas puddings and Father Christmas, there will also be a consultation running about the Well Street neighbourhood plan. The Well Street Traders and Residents Association (WESTRA) will also aunch its “barrow boys academy” scheme which will see young people learning all aspects of how to run a stall and a business.
The Well Street Festival takes place on Saturday December 14 from 11am to 5pm.
