Hoxton residents put up the bunting on Saturday, carrying on with the street party spirit begun last month with the Royal Wedding weekend.
Dance group Swing Patrol were accompanied by a 17-piece swing band at the party in Cropley Street, and youngsters took part in a circus workshop and got their faces painted, while the older residents took part in a game of bingo.
The party was held by Wenlock Barn estate Tenants Management Organisation to celebrate five years of running the estate successfully, and to let residents know they need to vote in a ballot for it to continue for a further five years.
TMO member Angela Gresham said: “It’s important it continues, it’s about residents working on behalf of other residents to ensure their estate is well maintained and the environment is a better place to live.”
