A 26-year-old woman was taken to Homerton Hospital after she was cut out of her car following a collision in Stamford Hill.

Around 100 people looked on as crews from Stoke Newington fire station and a rescue unit from Bethnal Green worked for 45 minutes to free the woman.

Emergency services were called at 6.30pm to the scene of the incident which involved two cars on Stamford Hill close to the junction with Manor Road.

A spokeswoman from London Ambulance Service (LAS) said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision at Stamford Hill. We sent an ambulance crews and a single responder in a car and we treated one patient for a head injury. She was conscious and breathing. She was taken as a priority to Homerton Hospital.”
