Leyton Orient manager Kenny Jackett confident his squad has the character to bounce back away to Barrow this weekend.

The O’s will make the trip away to Holker Street on Saturday as they look to bounce back from a 3-2 defeat away to Port Vale last weekend.

They were also due to travel to Crawley Town in the Papa John’s Trophy last night (Tuesday) in a match where the boss would have wanted to rotate his squad.

“We have to lift the players and assess it accurately, we need to do better than we did in the first-half, fair play to the players for the second-half response and the way we played,” Jackett said.

“We came back into it but at the end we got key details wrong and as much as picking them up after that disappointment. You have to be resilient. For us we have to see out those moments, but we have to learn from it, and move on.”

“We have the character and metal to come through that, making the correct decisions is a big thing.”

Right-back Tom James will actually miss the clash through suspension after he was originally due to miss the trip to Port Vale but a miscalculation of yellow cards allowed him to play.

He did however get booked as well as finding the net at Vale Park – meaning he now misses that trip.

“He will miss the game at Barrow, definitely, some sort of conjecture whether that was last week or whatever.

“He scored a very good goal, but picked up a fifth yellow card.”

Young defender Alex Mitchell is expected to return for the clash after missing out last weekend through a slight knock.

His absence meant a return to the starting line-up for Dan Happe and boss Jackettt will now face a selection headache in defence.

Omar Beckles, Dan Happe, Alex Mitchell and Shadrach Ogie at his disposal while Adam Thompson remains sidelined.

“We think he’ll be ok, he had a tight hamstring, no more than that but it’s not something that you can risk.”
