Boxing fans have the chance to get their hands on some famous memorabilia as items from the career of Hugh ‘Pat’ Floyd go under the hammer in December.
The Dalston-born heavyweight enjoyed a stellar career stretching from the 1920s to the 1940s, winning the ABA title on four occasions.
Floyd represented England in the European Championships in Budapest in 1934, was the Empire Games champion and captain, and won the Golden Gloves tournament in New York in the summer of 1935.
The auction sees an autograph book containing signatures collected by Floyd in his career, the 1935 International Golden Gloves belt, his British Empire Games 1934 patch and a host of trophies go under the hammer, among other items.
The archive is estimated at £3,000-5,000 in Sworders’ Winter Country House sale, which takes place on December 5.
Live online bidding is available via www.the-saleroom.com for those who register 24 hours before.
