Plans in place to ensure this season is better than ever
Plans are already in full swing for the new Victoria Park Community Cricket League season and it is shaping up to be better than ever.
The league itself was formed in 1988 and has been a permanent fixture throughout the 1990s and 2000s in Victoria Park.
Last season saw 24 teams compete, demonstrating how far the league had come after starting out with just a handful of sides.
With teams competing from across London and with its unique format of just sixteen overs per side, a maximum of four overs per bowler and retiring at fifty, the eight-a side league is perfect for quick evening matches May and August.
The league is still looking for one extra team and for players who wish to participate in the new season.
There are no restrictions about the age or sex of players, though those under 18 are required to wear a helmet.
