Clapton announced the fixture had been postponed several hours before kick-off on Saturday

Woodford Town were left frustrated by another postponement last weekend, as their Essex Senior League clash at Clapton was called off.

Heavy rain in the days leading up to Saturday saw a number of games in danger of falling foul of the wet weather.

Three matches didn’t survive in the end and Woods encounter away to the Tons was one of them with the Old Spotted Dog club announcing the postponement just before 10.30am.

Although rain had wrecked havoc in the local area during the lead up to the game, the temperature had began to rise and no more wet weather was forecast on Saturday.

Despite this, the fixture between two old London rivals was still called off and will be rescheduled in due course.

It means Town are set for an extended break as they are next in action on February 19 at home to Southend Manor – two weeks after they last played against Barkingside.
