Frenchman discusses Wimbledon clash, Cole Kpekawa and performance at Plymouth
New Leyton Orient defender Jean-Yves M’voto is confident ahead of facing AFC Wimbledon tomorrow (Saturday).
The O’s welcome the south London club to Brisbane Road with their form improving after picking up four points from a possible six in recent matches.
Another goal from Jay Simpson earned them a 1-1 draw at League Two leaders Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday night.
Head coach Ian Hendon felt his team were unlucky not to get all three points, after conceding nine minutes from time, but everything seems positive at Orient.
Wimbledon are 11th in the table ahead of travelling to east London, but the O’s will be hoping to get another win at home after seeing off York City 3-2 last weekend.
M’voto said: “You can see we have backed up the York win with a strong draw at Plymouth.
“We need to see what happens on Saturday now, but we are confident about what is going to happen.
“We just need to be strong, get into it and try to get the three points.”
The French defender has started the last two games and helped Hendon’s side get back on track in the division.
He played alongside QPR youngsters Cole Kpekawa at Plymouth and praised the 19-year-old.
M’voto also felt Orient had to be content with a point at Home Park despite impressing for long parts of the match.
“Cole is relaxed and I like him, we understand each other well so it is good to have him here,” added the former Barnsley and Oldham Athletic ace.
“Especially second half we did play very well and had three chances at Plymouth. We create, play well so a point isn’t to be sniffed at. We just have to take this result on the chin and see it as a good point, now we go home and prepare for the next game.”
M’voto will be expected to keep his place in the starting team against the Dons with Orient captain Mathieu Baudry still struggling with a hip injury.
The 27-year-old has settled in well at Brisbane Road and could have a big part to play this season for the O’s.
