London Meteors fight back for victory against Riviera

Prince Attakorah’s double enabled London Young Meteors to come from behind and overcome Riviera 3-2 to take the points in their Hackney & Leyton League Premier Division clash.
Oraldo Kola’s brace gave Riviera a 2-1 advantage, but the Meteors fought back to secure the victory, with Richard Otosu also getting his name on the scoresheet.
Frankie Notaro and substitute Greg Morse both netted doubles, with Dean Phillips also on target, to help Mustard to a 5-3 win over FC Niva, despite Peter Hnatayak’s hat-trick.
A single goal from top scorer Elliot Crosby was enough for Tottenham Phoenix as they defeated Highfield 1-0.
In Division One, Athletico Angels rediscovered the winning habit as they beat Bristow City 3-2 thanks to Paved Petrov and a Daniel Gray brace. Del Minney netted both goals for City.
Waya Embalm put Heegan ahead against Hackney Allstars, but that lead was soon overturned as Christopher Richardson hit a hat-trick and Daryl Morgan and Lee Greenaway added further goals to give the Allstars a 5-1 victory.
FC Stepney maintained their unbeaten record in Division Two with a 2-1 success against Boroughs United.
Yusuf Olinjie put Stepney ahead and, although Scott Pond levelled with a superb volley, man of the match Niall Cashman struck a late penalty to win it.
Chris Dennehy, Mark Hennessy, Ben Owusu and Albert Banrole all scored in Delta Athletic’s 4-0 triumph over Jack Barry St Germaine, while Top Red hammered newcomers Quinine 8-0.
Leading scorer Joe Cridland grabbed a hat-trick for South London Sharks in Division Three – but it was not enough to prevent a 4-3 defeat by Waltham Forest United, whose goals came from James Sealy, Ciaran Mclean, Henry Mintah and Matthew Pereira.
Yusuf Mohamed and Mike Underwood scored for Gladstone Wanderers in their 2-2 draw against Bocca, with Jamie Corby and Brad Taylor replying.
There were also wins for Boston Celtics, who defeated Football Club 22 3-0, and FC BKT, who beat Regent’s Park Rovers 3-2 with Wilson Mendez scoring twice and Grant Parry adding the other. Martin Pelummy and Michael Sim netted for Rovers.
Ben Harrison notched a hat-trick as Boundary beat Bow Badgers 4-0 in Division Four, with Glen Double also on the scoresheet.
Top marksman Aaron Marston registered a hat-trick for El Valiente as they saw off Eltham Phoenix 3-2 in the Sunday Junior Cup, while Birkbeck Orient edged out AFC Brasenose 2-1.
Aharon Tomlin’s four goals helped Hacimac to secure a place in the next round of the Jack Morgan Cup with a 7-4 win over Eagles.
Remy Mathulda, Santino Huggins and Dean Abdul also scored, while Carl Mullins hit a double for Eagles, backed up by Terry Hudson and an own goal.
Goals also flowed for Black Borough, with Ahmed Kamera and David Dice recording braces and Jamac Hutson, Jason Gardner and Tobi Omotosha getting one apiece in their 7-2 win over Bethune.
Wenlock beat ELE 3-1 in the Hackney & Leyton Junior Cup with goals from Ricky Harrison, Jamie Neil and Joshua Butt. Brinthan Varathalingham replied with an late consolation.
