Clapton assistant manager Wayne Seal has stepped down from his role at the club due to work and family commitments.

Seal joined the club early last season from Witham Town to work with manager Jonny Fowell and help Clapton on their quest to chase down the front-runners.

The duo worked hard to guide the Tons to a sixth place finish in the Essex Senior League last term and Seal took the reigns in a number of games when Fowell was absent due to illness or suspension.

Seal then helped Fowell retain majority of the squad over the summer and has spent the entire pre-season with the club.

Wayne Seal tweeted: “Thank you for enabling me to be apart of the club.

“A tough decision that I had to make and I wish the club, players and Jonny Fowell all the best for the season.”

The Tons are now looking to appoint a new assistant manager in the coming weeks to work alongside manager Fowell for the rest of the season.
