Mauricio Pochettino will try to make changes to his back four for the visit of Sean Dyche’s side
Tottenham Hotspur could have a couple of players back from injury when Burnley make the trip to Wembley Stadium on Saturday in the Premier League.
For Tuesday’s Champions League Group B encounter at Barcelona, Spurs were without Kieran Trippier, Serge Aurier, Juan Foyth, Davinson Sanchez, Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama.
However, some may return for the visit of the Clarets, who are 17th in the table with just 12 points from 16 games.
Full-backs Trippier and Aurier are both struggling with a groin injury, but the Lilywhites are set to assess them today before they decide whether they can play at Wembley.
If the duo remain absent, youngster Kyle Walker-Peters will deputise again after he made his full debut in Europe during the 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou earlier this week.
Elsewhere, South American pair Foyth and Sanchez have hamstring problems, but Spurs will also see how they are today ahead of a potential return this weekend.
After both Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen started away to Leicester City and at Barcelona on Tuesday, Pochettino will be trying to see if there is a possibility of resting one of the Belgians for Saturday’s league match.
Tottenham will continue to be without Dembele (ankle) and Wanyama (knee), however, but the former has started to commence on-field rehabilitation work again following a lengthy absence.
Erik Lamela can expect to be included from the off at Wembley while Eric Dier should return to the starting XI too.
The versatile England international could find himself in the back four if Sanchez and Foyth remain out, to allow one of Alderweireld or Vertonghen to get a rest, but if either Foyth or Sanchez are back, Dier should line up in midfield like usual.
