Boroughs United edged a closely fought game 3-2 against FC BKT, with Emeka Egbuowo, David Frost and Scott Pond putting Boroughs 3-0 up before Jonnell Bampo and Joe Berner scored for BKT to set up a nervy finale.

Bethune beat fellow Division Four team Wenlock Arms 3-1 with two Toby Bland goals and a further strike from Antony Alexander.

A single goal from James Alawi was enough for South London Sharks to beat Islington side Boundary Estate 1-0 as the Division Three outfit progressed.

In the Albert Daniels Cup preliminary round, London Meteors beat Tottenham Phoenix 6-3 with top scorer Prince Aponsah hitting a hat-trick and Richard Owusu, Prince Gyiniah and Josse Aquah also on target.

In the Hackney & Leyton League Premier Division, Mile End increased their lead at the top as goals by Gavin Kealy and Rick Edward sealed a 2-0 win over FC Niva.

Highfield stopped their losing run with a 3-2 win against FC Bartlett. Mark Bergin and Nze Onyekwelu scored for Bartlett, who are now seven points behind Mile End in second.

Riviera put a dent in Shakespeare’s title hopes with a 5-5 draw. An Orlado Kola hat-trick and an Elton Dervishaj brace put the bottom side in a commanding position to win their first game of the season, but goals from John Hind, Troy Deering, Charles Wells, Corbin Harrison and Lee Chandler rescued a point for the Shakes.

In Division One, Heegan kept up their winning streak with a 4-3 win over Athletico Angels. A Thomas Brochbank brace and a further strike from Ashley Green put Athletico 3-0 up but Heegan came roaring back to leave the Angels still in the relegation zone.

Gladstone Wanderers crushed Stratford Athletic 9-0 to move level on points with Division Three leaders Waltham Forest. Mustaf Mohammed struck a hat-trick, while James Matthews scored twice.

ELE FC remain bottom after being beaten 2-1 by Football Club 22, as goals from Junaed Budat and Israel Tshihevan cancelled out Jesse Joseph’s opener for ELE.
