Polit get one of over Division One rivals

IN the second round of the Dickie Davies Cup, Tommy Myers hit a hat trick while Stephen Prince was also on target as Division One side FC Polit beat fellow Division One side Embassy Snooker 4-1.

Army & Navy were in top form as they beat Midfield 11-1, while Tottenham Phoenix progressed after Woodgrange Rovers failed to fulfill the fixture.

In the Preliminary Round of the Hackney Gazette Cup, four goals from James Conner and singles from Lee Marshal and Peter Christian earned Eastway Olympia a 6-4 win over Haggerston Nomads. Para Siempre also qualified for the first round after Lockers failed to fulfill the game.

In the Hackney & Leyton League Premier Division, Real Romania moved to the top after a thumping 5-1 win over Independiente London.

Hot shot Ionut Coropoceanu and Antoniu Mieroi hit braces, while A Vadliva was also on target. Carlo Montano replied for Independiente.

Albion Manor and Red Devils played out a thrilling 5-5 draw with Vasyl Splyouk (2), Luke Rowland (2) and Matthew Harris scoring for Albion, while braces from Tolu Akiwtayo and Roddy Elamba plus a Michael Nwasu strike were on target for the Devils.

Lapton and Mile End played out a goalless draw, while Bancroft United and FC Metwin was called off because of a frozen pitch.

In Division One, Hackney Borough extended their lead at the top of the table after coming back from three goals down to beat FC Storm 5-3.

V Koytsupjak (2) and V Lebedenko looked to have won the game for Storm before a double from Shane Joseph, plus goals from Alfie Greenway, Marlon Marriott-Dixon and Mikhail Hendricks handed Borough the win.

Alex Lo-Porto was the hero for Lancresse Rangers as his hat-trick helped his side to a 4-3 win over Adam & Eve.

Toks Williams was also on target for Rangers, while Dean Bail (2) and Marcus Renford replied for Eve.

Joel Cohen, Godfrey Hamilton and John Bray all found the net for Wounded Knee, who beat Vio Romania 3-0.

In Division Two, Delta blew a two goal lead against Athletico Angels to lose 3-2.

Dave Armstrong and Adria Wilczynski scored for Delta, while Thomas Brockbank, Ashley Green and Steve Bechles won the game for Angels.

Sam See hit a hat-trick as Warren Hackney won 8-3 against Jay Cubed.

Jourdaine Grimes, Rowan Waiters, Ross Ehsain, G Shirley and Jack Todorov scored for Warren, with Steve Smalls and Simon Fewer replying for Cubed.

Wenlock Arms and Bristow City played out a 1-1 draw, with Mohamed Kali scoring for Arms, while Greig Josling replied for City.

Comets are the new leaders of Division Three after defeating Regents Park Rovers 3-2.

Adam Heath, Uli Izzett and Antony White scored for Comets, while Ben Wood and Pablo Romero Frezio scored for Rovers.

Highams Park Rangers kept in touch with the leaders in Division Four Chapel Old Boys after edging out East London 3-2.

Paul Christodoulou and Mark Christodolou, plus a Richard Penfold strike won the game for Rangers, with Richard Hoskin and Jerry Adegbuyi scoring for East London.

Wesley Gunner hit a hat-trick, while Keith Harrison and Darren Anglow scored for Hackney O’s, who beat Maynell 5-3.
