Hackney & Leyton League: Unbeaten Birkbeck advance in Jack Walpole Cup

Division Three leaders Birkbeck Orient kept their unbeaten record with a 3-0 win over Walthamstow Village in the preliminary round of the Jack Walpole Cup.
Ryan Gray and Miles Creevy struck in the first half, before Kiel Mellor sealed the victory midway through the second period, and Birbeck progress to meet Stratford Athletic in the first round.
Division Two leaders Jay Cubed won 5-1 against Division Three outfit FC Walthamstow, with Jack Taylor and Luke Trimm netting two goals apiece and Jamie Luxford completing the scoring, while John Mansford hit Walthamstow’s consolation. Cubed will face Leyton Manor in the next stage.
Division Four outfit Leyton Orient Fan’s Trust edged out Division Three side Shoreditch Fire Penguins in a thrilling 3-2 win.
Billy Sturt and Rob Crane registered for Orient, while Duncan Coombs and Adam Hill were on target for Shoreditch before Michael Coules scored a late winner for the Trust. Leyton will meet Woodford Rovers in the first round.

In the Premier Division of the league, leaders Phoenix won 3-1 against RL United with goals from Tyron Husbands, Sarfraz Nvano and Antony Clark, while Pat White replied for RL.
Meanwhile, Mustard stay in second place after a 4-2 win over Albion Manor. Michael Carlia, Ben Kerry, Gary Silvera and Jaron Charles were Mustard’s marksmen, while Guy Parker and Nick Best returned fire for Albion.

A hat-trick from Vincent Williams and a further goal by Nye Onyekwew earned FC Bartlett a 4-2 win over Tottenham Phoenix, with Michael Boateng and Menalick Richards netting consolations for the defeated side.
Elsewhere, Kennedy Antur struck twice and Baby Amando, Richard Owusu, Enoch Boateng and Nana Yaw Agyei also found the net as Black Meteors earned a 6-2 win over Red Devils, with Dwayne Malcomb and Alistair Buffong restoring some pride.
In Division One, Homerton FC went a point clear at the top after a 6-1 win over Wounded Knee. Lee Greenaway, Darryl Marson and Quincy Roberts all scored twice for Homerton, while Jason Reid was on target for Wounded Knee.
Highfield FC moved up to fifth place after a 5-2 win over FC Polit thanks to a brace from Ike Mbuwu, while Mason Collins, Joe Galbraith and Ted Danky also got on the scoresheet for the victors and Tommy Mayers and John Moore pounced for Polit.
Hackney FC secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 win over Newcresse FC following a goal in each half by Uwadia Okonye and PJ Mathison.
In Division Two, with previous leaders Jay Cubed involved in the cup, Athletico Angels took the opportunity to go top after a hard-fought 4-0 win over NLM FC.
Daniel Green gave Athletico a first-half lead and Ashley Green then struck a double, while James Brockbank also helped to seal Angels’ win.
Anton Belgrave hit a brace to give Football Club 22 a 2-0 half-time lead against Forest Athletic, but but Aaron Sharon and Luke Cato replied in the second period to grab a 2-2 draw.
In Division Three, City Fliers have moved into second spot after an entertaining 4-3 win over FC Duchess. Mikey Parker and Sean Gross both hit doubles for City, and Daniel Crockett also registered twice alongside a goal for Abraham Belo, but that wasn’t enough for Duchess.
Bocca Albion and Stratford Athletic shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, with Sam Norris scoring twice for Bocca and Lemy Raddon and Sam Woodford replying for Stratford.
Joe Hanmore also got a brace, with Keith Murray and Paul Morris also chipping in as Regents Park Rovers earned a 4-1 win over Florist Arms. Greg Joseph got the consolation.
Temi Akamo scored all three goals as Woodford Rovers secured their first points of the season with a 3-1 win over Wenlock Arms, who got a goal back through Tom Blundson.
In Division Four, leaders Top Red went five points clear after a 5-2 win over second-placed Wojack Sunday. Sam Jones, Fred Williams, Tom Beardmore, Johnny Montgomery and Max Levy were on target for Top Red, while Deondre Denar replied for Wojack.
Boston Celtic won 7-2 against Eastway Olympia after a hat-trick from Leigh Hartley, a double from Jason Skelton and further efforts from Jed O’Malley and Michael O’Sullivan. Daniel Little scored both goals for Eastway.
Leyton Manor won 9-2 against East London, with Fernando Riverio racking up four goals and Daniel Torres and Sergio Da-Silva both getting braces, while Diego Entiguez also got in on the act. Joe Price and Anish Patel registered for East London.
