Meteors shatter Mile End’s hopes in Albert Daniels Cup

Young London Meteors are through to the final of the Albert Daniels Cup after they beat title-chasing Mile End 4-1 with two goals from Richard Owusu.
Further strikes by Prince Amponsah and Derrick Geyimann secured Meteors’ victory, while Ibby Alcanbi replied for Mile End.
Fellow Premier Division side Highfield will be joining Meteors in the final after they beat Shakespeare 9-0, as Tope Oceteju scored an incredible five goals with Sammy Anjorin notching the other four.
In the Hackney & Leyton Premier Division, Riviera beat bottom side Mustard 4-2 with doubles from Amit Karabullai and Oraldo Kola, while Billy Underwood and Greg Moorse replied for Mustard.
El Valiente moved closer to safety in Division One with an impressive 4-1 win over Dynamics, despite going a goal behind.

Elsewhere, Hackney Allstars won 3-1 against Athletico Angels with goals from Lee Greenaway, Daniel Matthew and Tony Cookey. Thomas Brockbank replied for Athletico, but they remain bottom.

In Division Two, Nyron Dyer put Delta 1-0 to the good against Hacimac, but their opponents struck back with goals from Sheldon Merritt and a Caeleb Tomlin double, helping the relegation battlers to a fine 3-1 victory.
John Barber scored a hat-trick as Top Red beat Quinine 7-0, with Sam Melody, Henry Swales and Gabriel Morrison also on target, while Tommy Flynn and BG United played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
In Division Three, leaders Boston Celtics beat title rivals Waltham Forest Athletic 4-1 thanks entirely to the four goals scored by man of the match Ricky Price.
Two goals from Terril Alleyne were enough for Football Club 22 to overcome Gladstone Wanderers 2-0, while Regent’s Park Rovers beat Wojak Sunday 3-0 with strikes from Michael Sim, Martin Pellummy and Jamie Common.
South London Sharks saw off FC BKT 3-0 with two goals from Dan Smith and another from Chris Breen.
East London kept up their winning streak in Division Four with a comfortable 2-0 triumph over Boundary Estate thanks to goals from Stuart Farren and Kane Reid.
Black Borough came from behind to beat Eastway Olympia 4-1, as Ben Vowels’ opener was cancelled out by two Jamie Gardner strikes and efforts from Mitchell Carter and Evon Foster.
The most impressive performance of the weekend came from Islington side Wenlock Arms as they beat Birkbeck Orient B 10-0, with Mohammed Hamdounai hitting a hat-trick.
Harry Smyth added a brace, with Grant Dove, James Lynnott, Matthew Dowling, Dundar Hassan and Nick Sherrell also getting their names on the scoresheet.
Goals by Tommy Maher and Carl Mullins were enough for Eagle FC to move above Woodford Rovers at the top, courtesy of a 2-0 win.
