Stoke Newington tennis star Savannah Sills finished runner-up at the international junior ITF tournament in Kuwait last week.
The 15-year-old reached the final after winning all four previous rounds in straight sets, including a 6-0, 6-3 win over Nancy Karaky in the semi-final.
However, the Hackney City Tennis teenager was soundly beaten, 1-6, 3-6, in the final by Egypt’s Hana Mortagy – ranked 300 in the world.
Sills remains in full-time education at Stoke Newington School and is ranked 748th in the world for under-18s.
