Stoke Newington School celebrated yet more silverware after their Under-14 girls’ team beat Crown Woods 8-0 to win the London Cup.

Stoke Newington won the accolade of Team of the Year at the Hackney Sports Awards last October, and the Clissold Road school are in line to repeat that feat after adding a third trophy in as many weeks.

Former pupil Ian Bruce has guided the girls to yet another title, following the Under-16s’ London Cup triumph and the Under-13s being crowned Premier League Schools Tournament champions.

Bruce said: ‘The girls were superb and dominated all their matches in getting to the final. It’s great for them to win their age group in this competition in successive years. They really are worthy winners.’

Stoke Newington made light work of their opponents en route to the final, with 11-0 and 15-0 victories over Raines Foundation and Bridge helping pave the way for a routine and resounding win over Crown Woods in the final.
