Two boxers from the Lion ABC are through to the final of London Boxing Elite Championship after fighting their way through the opening rounds.

Louis Isaacs returned to the ring after two years out to outpoint Fairbairn BC’s Fatson Gola on a unanimous decision in the quarter-final before knocking down West Ham’s Mo Yaqoubi in the first round of the semi-final.

He will face Elliot Whale of Nemesis BC in Thursday’s U64kg final at Harrow Leisure Centre.

Also through is William Webber. He took a split decision win over Islington’s Chris Onwegbuni in the U75kg quarter-final before winning a unanimous decision over Conor Hinds of Double Jab ABC.

A third Hackney boxer, Viddal Riley, who boxes out of the West Ham club, will face Miguels Ben Vickers in the U91kg final after victory over Jacob Peterson.

Lion held their second show of the season at their Pitfield Street headquarters in Hoxton with five of their boxers in competitive action and three in skill bouts.

The Singh brothers, Ram and Amo, both had tough battles on their way to a win but both utilised their quick hand speed to defeat Acer Smith of March ABC and Eric Ciureja of Sparta BC respectively.

Their cousin Dillon singh lost a unanimous decision to Halstead’s Joshua Leagrove.

Cameron Glenn-Gladstone looked an exciting prospect on his way to a unanimous victory over Centurions ABC’s Tom Dickson.

Mohammed F Miah, however, lost in a close encounter with Islington’s Patrick McDonagh.

In the skill bouts Calum Naylor, Harley Ouzman and Mohammed Miah were all in action.

Stoke Newington heavyweight Lawrence Okolie needed just 20 seconds of his professional debut to polish off Hammersmith’s Jeff Cave.

Two hard right hooks did the damage and with Cave unable to beat the count, referee Victor Loughlin called it off.
