Victoria Park Bowls Club are on the hunt for new members as they look to move forward as a club.

They have been going for the past 117 years, but membership has slipped to 20 this year and not all of those are playing members.

They take part in the Prescott Cup as well as the Wednesday Triples League and the Walthamstow & District League on a Thursday, though results have not been too good recently.

But there is plenty of enthusiasm still and spokesman Terry Downey wants more people to come along, whether they want to have a friendly roll-up or play more comppetitively.

“We need more members to keep things going,” he said.“Anyone who wants to have a go can come down to the park and see us or they can give me a ring on 020 77397223 for more details.

The park is holding an Open Day on July 9, but why not give bowls a go before then?
