West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has played down rumours of David Beckham joining the club.
The former England captain has been linked with a return to the Premier League and the east Londoners have been one of the sides mentioned.
He said: “David has always said to me when I have spoken to him that he’s only wanted to play for Manchester United in this country.
“I don’t think that’s changed. I don’t think he’s said that he wants to come back to England.
“It’s speculation until he decides where he wants to go.
“That will trigger the part of the world that he’s going to go to.
“I’m not sure about the situation at all.
“If David said that he wants to come back to play in London and in the Premier League then we would talk about it.
“None of that has been said. We’re just being linked with it, of course, because everybody thinks it.”
