An exhibition is to celebrate the Olympics by displaying 20 portraits of Team GB’s athletes completed by 12 artists.
The display has been organised by DegreeArt, an organisation which promotes artwork by students and recent graduates.
The group picked 12 of its most established artists for the exhibition, which it claims will “celebrate the spirit of this historical event and the potential of our home grown talent.”
Each of the 12 artists chose an athlete or another aspect of the Games as their subject, with many athletes sitting personally for their portraits.
The exhibition, called “20:12”, starts on August 2 and will run until September 26 at DegreeArt’s Execution Room at 12A, Vyner Street.
