SPITALFIELDS will be turning Japanese at the weekend as the third annual Japan Matsuri kicks off tomorrow.
Visitors to the festival will be able to enjoy a taste of Japan’s rich culture, welcome in the autumn season and experience art, craft, music, dance, food, theatre, puppetry, games and family activities.
Stalls will offer a selection of Japanese foods, where visitors can try stir-fried yakisoba noodles, takoyaki octopus dumplings, yakitori chicken skewers, curry, sushi, tempura, o-den stew, traditional Japanese sweets and a selection of sakes.
The festival will be spread across three stages around the market showcasing martial arts, music and dance and family activities.
Organiser say this year’s free festival, which takes place from 10am-8pm tomorrow (Saturday), will be the biggest and best yet.
