Top Barcelona restaurant to open in new Shoreditch Village
It might feel far away from the shores of the Mediterranean, but Shoreditch will soon acquire its own little corner of Spanish bliss when Barcelona’s Mamarosa opens its first restaurant on British soil next summer.
The original location of the Italian and Mediterranean fusion restaurant is on Barceloneta Beach, but as of next year you’ll be able to forego the plane to Catalonia and hop instead on the orange line to Shoreditch Village – a trendy development including retail space and a hotel due to open in July 2018 right by the overground station.
The new Mamarosa will serve dishes such as tuna tartar with avocado cream and passion fruit, milanesa of chicken with arugula and black angus loin, alongside a selection of pizzas, cocktails and live music (this is Costa del Shoreditch, after all).
The restaurant is a favourite among UK celebs Lewis Hamilton and Hugh Grant – and when Mamarosa opens in London at last, you’ll be almost guaranteed to spot one of them…
