Folk singer Laura Marling is the focus of Secret Cinema’s first ever Secret Music offshoot, which is being held in an undisclosed Hackney location.
Secret Cinema has already drummed up a massive cult following for the immersive cinema concept, which asks you to sign up to watch an unknown film in an undisclosed location. Now the company is branching out into music.
Laura Marling’s latest album “Once I Was an Eagle” which was released in May, will be brought to life in an unused building which has been transformed into a glamorous hotel in the year 1927.
The immersive concept will see the fictional Hotel Master Thomas Undine and his staff seeing to the well being of guests during the black-tie Eagle Ball event, and at the end of the evening Marling herself will deliver a live performance.
Sam and Sam Clark from Exmouth Market’s Moro restaurant will feed 36 guests every night with a lavish three-course banquet in the venue’s Secret Restaurant The show runs until Sunday June 30. Tickets cost £35, see www.secretcinema.org/lauramarling.
