The Star is hosting a bank holiday street party to celebrate a decade since its launch in Bethnal Green Road.
It is the last of the 10 events dreamed up for the pub’s 10 years, and the seventh annual street party.
The family-geared fun-day will see Rushmead closed off to traffic from noon until 9pm on Monday. Children’s entertainers, face painting and a bouncy castle are lined up, and there will be funk and soul music playing from a sparkly “disco caravan”. An outdoor bar will be serving the last of the 40 barrels of fruity craft beer Constellation, specially rustled up by Camden Town Brewery for the pub’s anniversary. Smokey Tails, which has the pub’s kitchen since moving from Hoxton square in September, will be serving food outside with pop-ups Café Go Vegan and Hanoi Cà Phê.
Bethnal Green was the first branch opened in the Electric Star group, before Hackney Downs, Leyton, Heathcote and Kings Cross.
Adult tickets cost £5 from Design My Night. Kids go free.
