A second man has been charged in connection with the murder of Trei Daley in Hackney Wick

Trei was stabbed near the Colour Factory nightclub in Queen's Yard, just off White Post Lane, on the morning of February 11.

The Bromley man presented at an east London hospital alongside another man, both of them suffering stab injuries.

An investigation was launched after police were called to these reports at around 4.30am.

Despite the efforts of medics, Trei, 26, died in hospital and his family were informed.

The second man, aged 24, was discharged from hospital later that same day.

A post-mortem examination held on February 14 found the cause of Trei's death to have been a stab wound to the chest. 

Mawien Mawien, 38, of Portland Close, Chadwell Heath, has been charged with murder, wounding another man and possession of a bladed article.

He is due to appear at Highbury Magistrates Court today (Friday, February 24).

This comes after Christopher Appiah-Blay, 35, of Wick Road, was charged on February 14 with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

He appeared at Willesden Magistrates' Court on the same day and was remanded in custody.

A trial has been set for April 2, 2024 at the Old Bailey.

A 20-year-old man arrested on February 18 on suspicion of murder has been bailed to a date in May.
