A pensioner has been confirmed as the pedestrian hit by a lorry earlier this week.

The man, aged in his 70s, was hit by the lorry in Clapton Common at around 9am on Monday (September 4).

Metropolitan Police officers attended alongside medics from the London Ambulance Service.

The man was rushed to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

There have been no arrests and enquiries into the crash continue.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident, or anyone who might have dash cam footage of the crash, to come forward.
